FIS SNOWBOARD BIG AIR WORLD CUP
Once again, we’ve had the distinct honour of outfitting the Commonwealth Stadium with vibrant colour for this year’s edition of the Style Experience!
Creating the world’s largest in-stadium Big Air jump and Rail Park spanning the entire Edmonton Elks’ CFL Football field is no small feat. With hundreds of feet of scaffolding and plywood, truckloads of snow, stages, photo booths, presentation and media areas to build, this entire production took a month to bring to fruition, and boy did it bear fruit! Thousands of snowboard culture enthusiasts flocked to Commonwealth to bear witness to the unbelievable athletic talents of the competitors and to rock out to a few of Canada’s best musical acts – Skiitour, Calling All Captains, & Grandson!
Some of our contributions to the Style Experience included; all of the event and sponsor branding along the big air ramp and jump itself, consisting of heavy-weight banner, mesh banner, and the keystone element a-top the jump, a 9m x 5m digitally-printed maple leaf and athlete staging area; band/DJ stage backdrops and banners; “Kiss & Cry” waiting area for the athletes’ scoring; stadium wayfinding; lower bowl stair branding; and all stencils used for the spray-painted elements in the Rail Park. Needless to say this was a heroic and cooperative effort by all teams involved and the event turned out beautifully!
